My LJ is 99% FO - thanks to infanta_teribla for the beautiful banner!
What are you gonna read about here? I often post the results of my own photographic forays and talk at length about books I've read or movies I've seen. There will also be some minor fangirl flail about LeAnn Rimes, the Backstreet Boys or David Garrett and prattles about what goes on in my real life. If you wanna see whether we're gonna click or not, take a look at my userinfo - it's a cornucopia of facts about who I am. ;)
Remember: Comment to be added! If I have no idea who you are, chances are I won't add you back.

Here goes all the credit for the various mood themes I love to use.Collapse )

I've had items for my personal bucket list in the back of my head for half my life, but when asked, I often only remembered parts of it and I never really did get to make any progress; it seemed more like an “amorphous blob of undoability”. No amount of security is worth the suffering of a life chained to a routine that has killed your dreams.Collapse )

[ Hummin' to: | Amy Grant – Ask me ]

I was such a sad panda when the people here at LJ decided to cancel the Writer's Block. Now that they've decided to revive that feature, I am a happy camper. =)

Pet peeves are those seemingly-minor things people do or say that really annoy you.
What tops your list of pet peeves?

I am a generally very lenient person and there isn't much of the small things that people say or do that outright annoy me. However, my biggest pet peeve are probably inconsiderate drivers, whether they're on two, four or eighteen wheels. I find it irritating as fuck when they don't turn their headlights on when the sight is questionable (as it often is in my forested neck of the woods, especially on murky days), when they switch lanes without indicating (which sadly seems to be the norm on our highways) or when they tailgate me (which happens frequently when I keep Bluebird to the 70 km/h speed limit and I have a fat BMW behind me who obviously has to be anywhere but  behind a slower vehicle). I'll not even mention those punks who drink and drive. It's a topic I could go absolutely ballistic on...

[ Song: LeAnn – Who we really are ]

Bored now... I made this for wildrose. She asked if I'd seen last weeks male meme also around for females and since I didn't, I decide to just start one. Maybe there's a few people that'll get the snowball running?
1. Bold the names of girls you'd definitely get with.
2. Italicize the names of girls you might get with after a little persuasion.
3. Leave the girls who don't do anything for you alone.
4. Put a (?) after the girls you've never heard of (without googling).
5. Strike the girls you wouldn't touch with a ten-foot pole.
6. Add three girls (or as many as you like) to the list.
Oh my friend, it"s not what they take away from you that counts. It"s what you do with what you have left.Collapse )

I think I'll get back to my re-watch of Buffy, the Vampire Slayer now. Also, on a side note, I'm so happy that the World Cup is about to start tomorrow and helps me pass the next couple of weeks of summer slump.

I hate to execute a friends cut, but sometimes it's a necessary evil...
Since I want my LJ to be as active as possible and as familiar as possible, I want to make sure that I actually know all of you around here and you're more than just a written name that pops up on the list. To me, LJ should not reflect how popular you are … it's about meeting people and creating friendships.

Here are a few possible reasons that can make you a likely candidate to receive a cut, either now or in the future.
• Your journal is nothing more than a dust collector and hasn’t been posted in in eons
• You and I don't interact (neither in response to my entries nor to my comments in your entries)
• You're a bot from Russia
It's nothing personal and I wish you all the best, really.

I won't cut people who I've only recently added, whose posts make my day, those I want to get to know better and those that I do know and hold dear in RL. So, if you can still see this post, you're all good. =)

Mistakes happen, though. There was a LOT of cutting and I might have clicked the wrong ticky-box – if you think I must have cut you accidentally and you really want back on my flist, drop me a line. Same goes for those that – unexpectedly – do come back from the dead. Comments to this entry will be screened. To those that have been cut, please consider removing me from your flists as well.

[ Song ♫: | Christian Kane – Right in front of you ]

Yesterday I went with Claudia to see the New York Gospel Stars in Rendsburg's Christ Church. Oh, the fun of an out-of-control image stabilizer... The choir was awesome – powerfully and joyfully they carried the love of God through the pews. I always find it amazing how heartfelt Gospel music is – when they sing, you actually believe and find hope. It brought tears to my eyes once or twice just how emotional they were, singing their hearts out and spreading love and deep, religious thought.

With my leftover days off and a couple of over-hours to break down, I am entering into my last week at work. The annual balance sheets are still ongoing and continue to prove fairly hellish – to everybody else. Frankly I am past caring at this point because my part in all this is DONE – my annual finances for my own area of work are up and ready to be presented to the auditors.
I've sent out ~15 applications already – a few rejections, but most of them haven't even replied in any form yet. Oh well … I knew it wasn't gonna be that easy.

I am working on a new layout in between and it should be up and running by the end of February.

My travel plans for this year have changed, positively. I consider myself extremely lucky, as a much coveted spot on this years Winnetou Convention in Croatia opened up. These are usually sold out rapidly - and I grabbed my chance. So yes, instead of travelling Budapest and Prague, it's Croatia again! Different filming locations, different guests and different events, but everything still very much in the spirit of Karl May. Croatia! ♥

LeAnn attended the Play it forward event, one of the many adjoining tonight's Grammy Awards. ♅ There is always a little truth behind every "Just kidding", a little knowledge behind every "I don"t know", a little emotion behind every "I don"t care" and a little pain behind every "It"s okay". ♅Collapse )

[ Hummin': | Mary Youngblood – And we shall dance ]

Probably my last post for this year, courtesy of my OCD self's need to archive things neatly. The rain falls because the sky can no longer handle its weight, just like the tears fall because the heart can no longer handle the pain.Collapse )

Since it's most likely the last post of the year, I'd like to keep the tradition of posting the stats … although it's a rather sad affair in comparison to last year. The scariest thing about distance is that you don"t know whether they will miss you or forget you.Collapse )

[ Listenin' to: | Amerñan – Antonio Mocho ]

The wedding last Wednesday was a complete success! Mary looked absolutely gorgeous and even I felt fashionable in my own dress. Being the maid of honor was a great experience but all things considered I wouldn't do it again. Will share some photos once I get my hands on them...

Anyway, main reason for this post will be MASSIVE fangirl flail. I went to see my second movie of the year on Thursday - “The Hobbit“ - with the ever-awesome no_ones_sleep and her hubby (and then saw it again with Claudia yesterday). To say that I didn't anticipate this particular movie would be an all-out lie. In fact, I've been following the project closely ever since it got green-lit by the studio and every little bit of news, stills, video logs and trailers never ceased to amaze me.
✞ From the smallest beginnings come the greatest legends. ✞Collapse )

So, did “The Hobbit“ live up to my ginormous expectations? YES! In my opinion, it's a film that should not be missed and I think most people will love it – except those boring types with a fixed opinion of what is realistic and possible in this world of ours and who do not want to see anything that goes against the 'rules set in stone of reality'. Even though it's a different kind of beast than LotR – as it well should be - this is another masterpiece and I found it on par with the “Fellowship of the Ring“. Everyone will have their own opinions, but IMHO negative critics can go straight to the depths of Mordor “The Hobbit“ catered to my hopelessly biased Middle-earth fangirl heart, so 9/10 from me!

And now excuse me while I'm off to watch LotR again. =)

And just FYI, I did create my little backdoor (in case LJ really goes off the rails and I find myself unable to deal with the upcoming changes) and opened up a DW account. Same name as here, how creative... XD Entries and everything is imported already, but so far I can't get my beloved layout to work there, so I have a temporary substitute up.

I actually re-watched this a few weeks ago already, but I was just lagging behind iconing it. Thanks to insomnia tonight I kicked myself to finally finish this project and here they are – Text icons from the 5th and very last season of "Stargate Atlantis"! Keep on going and the chances are you will stumble on something, perhaps when you are least expecting it. I have never heard of anyone stumbling on something sitting down.Collapse )

In the past few weeks I have actively participated at some icon challenges and I think it's about time to post some of them that are from already finished rounds. I would like to recapture that freshness of vision which is characteristic of extreme youth when all the world is new to it.Collapse )

I apologize in advance for this massive transfer post, but since leann_global has zero people watching and just as many joined (despite promoting in some appropriate places), I decided to delete it again. If I do the fangirling for myself anyway, I can do it on here just as well and it's up to you to ignore these kinds of posts or whatever floats your boat. ;)

On February 24th 2011 LeAnn attended the "Leeza Gibbons' Dare2Care Benefit" and there are pictures from the arrivals, Red Carpet, backstage and the performance. What have I done?Collapse )

Thanks to Rosebud we also have three small outtakes from LeAnn's and Eddie's Cabo Social Magazine photo shoot they did end of last year in Mexico. Oh, what have I done?Collapse )

JustJared spread some news on LeAnn's new movie project! Selfless and faithful, as good as you should be. Open and fearless... Oh, what a gift you gave meCollapse )
US Magazine posted an article on how skinny LeAnn has become. LeAnn herself defends her new gaunt physique here and here. IMHO, by the sheer look of her body shape, I'd say she's indeed bordering on the thin line to an eating disorder and as an ED battler myself I know from experience that denial is the biggest key component of it all. It really makes me sad to see this because I think it is some indication of how insecure she really feels. I worry that she turns into a second Brandi Glanville, but I'm not quite sure whether it's voluntarily or because she's pushed to by Eddie. Underneath it all, I think she worries about being good enough for him and tries too hard to please him. First the boob job and now this? I wish she'd go back to that happy country girl she used to be before all the drama...

I also found some new videos – interview from the "Grammy Award's" 2011, interview and rehearsal video from "MusiCares Person of the Year" and a 10 minute radio interview on the "Bobby Bones Show!.

Lastly I have tried my hand at something differently than text icons. Cnce in every lifetime there"s a chance to stand apart. We can show the world our very best, reveal what"s in our heart.Collapse )

Recently a set of MQ pictures has surfaced, from February 3rd when she did that concert for a small audience of contest winners at Radio KYGO. What have I done?Collapse )

She also posted another video in the same vein as the radio performance of "What have I done?" mentioned in my last post – this time it's an awesome acoustic performance of "Crazy Women"!
