[Mood| cynical] [Song ♫| Brian Littrell – Over my Head ] Actually we stumbled over this movie just by accident and were aiming to watch something entirely different. Sometimes I’m glad that things just don’t turn out they way they were supposed to – this is one piece of a jewel! It is about an American soldier unable to cope with the realities of daily life after he returns from his tour of duty in Iraq. I’m sure this movie will stay with me for at least several weeks, with its searing pain and a wrecked, unforgettable beauty. It is harrowing and emotionally draining, certainly packs a punch.
 ( † War ravages the soul † )
Overall a spellbinding movie and I’m sure you cannot watch and not be affected by the emotional impact it has long after leaving the theatre. If you have considered watching “In the Valley of Elah”, this movie is an even better go. It leaves you wondering just how bruised and broken the vets who come home truly are…

[Mood| indescribable] [Song ♫| Charles Littleleaf - Josh ] Yesterday has been an impressive day… Jona, Mathias and me went to Kiel for the afternoon and evening. First some nice Dinner at a Korean Restaurant and we all had Currychicken with various vegetables, because none of the other stuff was described well enough to know what we’d be eating. *lol* After that we lined up at the entrance for the ”Apassionata” in the huge Sparkassen-Arena (stupid one who renamed it from “Ostseehalle”), a stunning kind of equestrian Theatre. The Horse Gala has already attracted more than 2 Million Ppl across Germany, Austria and Switzerland. The Theme is titled “Grand Voyage”, leading around the world to the different horse races and their respective specialities, all surrounded by specially composed music and dances. I have heard so much of it and seen so many beautiful trailers across local TV beforehand that I was really, really excited to see it live… Here you can have a ( ♠ Review of the entire Show, including Pix & Vids! ♠ )
On another note – I wonder if LeAnn is pregnant and just not yet telling us… She usually is very slender, but on her current Stadium Tour I’ve seen her in three different outfits and each time it looked like she’s developing a belly or trying to conceal it… Or she’s just chosen the wrong outfits three times. *shrugs* But it would be awesome if she were! ♥

| Movie Review #4 - Fool's Gold |
[May 03, 2008 @ 10:14am] |
|
[Mood| nostalgic] [Song ♫| Rihanna - Cry ] Yet another Movie to get off my Watchlist ... it feels like I'm proceeding at a good rate with all my Must-see's this year... :D Some people called this a 'mindless film of the week', but actually it wasn't that bad... Again, I'm not saying that it's very good either. All I actually went in for were the two main actors - I have loved Kate Hudson & Matthew McConaughey together in "How to lose a Guy" and wanted to see the terrific chemistry again!
( ”Don't even think about it.” – “What?” – “Don’t what me. You know what.” )
Overall, it's a cute/silly movie that gives you nothing new storytelling-wise, but it's worth watching just alone to ogle Kate (Men) and Matthew (Women).

[Mood| optimistic] [Song ♫| 3. Generation – Bitte nicht ] Happy Father’s day to almost all of them out there!
And as precisely as ever, here we go again with an interesting BotM, it’s time for ( May’s Best of the Month! )
Tonight I’m going to Claudia after work, to have a nice Girlsnight. We dunno yet wether we go into town to the cinema or if we just stay at her place for some nice cooking and chitchat…

| Movie Review #3 - The Game Plan |
[April 27, 2008 @ 3:51pm] |
|
[Mood| hot] [Song ♫| Sister Act – Joyful, joyful ] Ahoy… My mind has taken temporary leave and right behind a 12 hrs workday I put another late night at the cinema, followed by writing this review at currently 1:43 am… O_o As you can see by the time of this post, I fell asleep right after that and just got back to posting it now instead of last night already. ThankGodforRedBull! ;) I can’t strike this off my Watchlist, as this has already been in cinemas when I compiled that list. Here we go with Movie Review #3 now – a funny comedy called “The Game Plan”. I mainly went in for Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson because he totally convinces me with each and every movie he makes. Pretty surprising taken that he’s originally a wrestler with not much sense for humour. *lol*
( “My Mom says that she fell in love with you because you played guitar and you sounded like Elvis.” – “Really? *insert Elvis voice* Well, what do you think?” – “I think my Mom was tone deaf and you sound more like an injured moose.” )
I admit, I liked this movie. A lot. It pulled at my heart strings, even managed to bring a few tears to my eyes. It's a harmless piece of fluff and Dwayne is such a likable lug, you can't help but root for him. It's intended to be fun, goofy, light-hearted sappy silliness from Disney – and at that, the movie does a great job!

| Taken by surprise |
[April 24, 2008 @ 9:16pm] |
|
[Mood| shocked] [Song ♫| Linda Ronstadt – Goodbye, my Friend ] Crap, I’ve just seen my favourite actor Chris Ritter die on my fave german series “Alarm für Cobra 11”. It came totally out of the blue, as he actually only was in the series since last March – in 2 Seasons a 8 Episodes. I didn’t expected him to leave that soon again… :(((( Crap, why am I always rooting for those who have to bite the dust?! I should have picked Semir Gerkhan, who already is in the series since the very start. Srsly, he is about to develope a trauma about working with partners, since all died sooner or later by his side… *sniff* The new one will be a Guy called Tom Beck in his role named as Ben Jäger… I haven’t heard much of him yet, but I’m sure it’ll take me some time again to get adjusted to just another new face… :( Aww, I’ll so miss this good ol’ Team!
On a much, much happier note – the main cast for this years Karl May Festival in bad segeberg has just been announced here! ♥ *squee* Two of my three fave actors are already listed and I’ve received an eMail from Anderson yesterday, stating that he’ll be there too. So, that leaves me with but one option – going there at least once, maybe even more this year! *lol* ( … My weirdest addiction … ) This isn’t the whole cast yet … Anderson needs to be added in his costume and also the comedian roles seem to have not been casted yet. I’ll keep you all updated!

| DO NOT WANT |
[April 18, 2008 @ 4:18pm] |
|
[Mood| aggravated] [Music ♫| Nick Carter – Is it Saturday yet ] Ack, Docs are suggesting me a surgery… é_è My cruciate ligament is acting up funny. I’ve always had some problems every now and then since a pretty bad riding accident 6 or 7 years back. Back then the ligament had been slightly ruptured and wasn’t treated right. So it stayed kinda strained and … loose. @_@ It happens sometimes that it gets stuck at some bone fragment and with a later movement it snaps back where it belongs. At the beginning this snapping back had been painful, but by now I’ve gotten so used to it that I barely even twist anymore. Also I’m quite accustomed to my kneecap snapping in and out of place at the most unusual situations… O_o It doesn’t hurt, it’s just an ugly sound … like you hit your elbow at a corner (funny bone) or like a real ligament rupture. Yeah, and that’s what they say it’ll become … a real rupture. One ‘not-so-far-away’ day the ligament will be so worn-out (reamed out?) from the constant movement that it really snaps. Yuck … do not want. I don’t really have any problems with the situation as of right now and since I’m also not riding anymore or attending any other sports worse than biking cross-country and swimming, I figure it won’t be that bad to leave it as it is… My knee is still stabilized enough to walk around in High Heels and to do the lighter sports. ~ So, me being the one to scrimshank from doctors at just any issue … I’d say “Leave it alone”. ~ But, Jona and Mathias being around to take care of me little self-destructive part … they say “Go get surgery”. *sighs* Hello … stand-off situation here? T_T

[mood| working] [music| BsB - Panic ] Well, question first - am I the only one around who has never ever even heard of the Comic, let alone hasn’t read it? Ppl kept telling me that they loved the original comic plus the sequels and I was looking at them like I’ve had no clue. Well, I hadn’t really, so the movie couldn’t get to me the wrong way… ;) ( ”Only God should have this power.” ) Overall, it wasn’t bad, but it also wasn’t really good. Let’s say “mediocre” for now, for all aspects. Plus, 90 minutes being too short… So, basically I’d recommend it, but only if you’re looking for a short while entertainment. Looking for something more substantial? Go for something else. Looking for originality? Well, sometimes I think Hollywood has done it all and creativity isn’t there anymore…
Oh vey, before I forget it – LeAnn had been nominated for 3 CMT Awards this year and yesterday she took home the one for the best Video Collaboration of the Year for “Till we ain’t Strangers anymore”! Yay, I’m so happy for her finally getting an Award again! She was being funny in her TY’s, my heart so went out to her! Under the cut you’ll find Red Carpet Pictures (absolutely stunning!) and a Vid of her Performance of “Nothin’ better to do” – ( ♥she rocked it!!♥ )

[mood| excited] [music| Josh Groban – Remember when it rained ] Gosh, there are apparently a lot of Movies coming up this year that I’m all excited to watch! I’ll try to post a review of each one whenever I’ve seen it. In no particular order, but just so you know what’s up my list: ♥ What happens in Vegas (Don’t like Kutcher, but the Plot sounds good enough for a laugh.) ♥ Nim’s Island (VERY excited to watch – Jodie Foster in a Comedy Role? Hell yeah!) ♥ Indiana Jones & the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull (Must-go, he’s a legend in this role, no matter what age!) ♥ The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor (loved the previous ones & Jet Li as addition = YES!) ♥ Wanted (I love Angie, so that one’s a Must-see!) ♥ Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian (It was a cute movie, so I think I’ll enjoy this follow-up.) ♥ Fool’s Gold (I loved Kate & Matthew together in “How to lose a Guy”, so I wanna continue to support this dream team on the big screen!) ♥ Twilight (Just one word – S Q U E E!!!!!!!!) ♥ X Files (I know, I’ll enjoy this one very much, even if I shouldn’t be through with all seasons until then…) ♥ The accidental Husband (Jeffrey Dean Morgan, what more would I want?) ♥ The Woman (Finally something that could become a Meg-Ryan-Classic again!) ♥ High School Musical 3: Senior Year (No real explanations, I’ll just enjoy.) ♥ Harry Potter & the Halfblood Prince (It comes closer to the End!) ♥ Taken (Plot sounds a lot like trash, but for Maggie Grace I’m willing to give it a go…) ♥ James Bond: Quantum of Solace (Craig has convinced me with his debut in this series and I wanna see how it goes on.) ♥ Changeling (Another Angie Movie I plan to see if the first trailers attract me…) ♥ Australia (Even though her last epic movie (Cold Mountain) has disappointed me a lot, I will give it another try because I love Nicole and Australia.) This is just the main Blockbusters, but I’m sure there’s some more that I’ve either just forgotten or that are actually smaller promoted movies. Any suggestion to add to this list, guys? But remember, I live in Germany and may not get all the goodies…

[mood| enthralled] [music| Rihanna – Take a Bow ] Lots of Updates this time around! After two months or so I’m bringing up a new Layout. Fully Credit in this entry and the Layout Column for the incredibly amazing spring coloured Header goes again to my dear deesproperty (Riikka)! I ♥ this, thx!! This time I decided to put up four different quotes – two new on the main page and also two new ones on the friends page. If you take a look around, you’ll see that I also sorted through my Userpix. After all, I stuck with the general fandom’s, but I put up newer Icons with newer pictures. Credit is already given where I was sure who to credit. But if you see your Icon up here without proper credit and feel offended, then please contact me, so I can set things right.
Like I have hyperly stated in this Entry, I have been at a Backstreet Boys Concert. Well, two within two days actually, but only Berlin was really worth mentioning – first time front row!!!! A lot of old classics were performed as well as the new ones. Mainly I liked that they were dancing again like in the old times. My fave dance song was “Panic” and I totally ♥ Alex performing “Drive by Love”. Even though I didn’t understand much of the song due to the frantic screams, I felt the pure energy going out, the enormous vibe, the mesmerizing power. I so can’t wait for June 1st when he’ll be solo in Hamburg. I only had my Cell Phone for any Pictures and sometimes I simply forgot to click the release when one of the Guys was dancing right in front of me on the Speakers. *lol*They are blurry and they totally don’t reflect how close it really was and how amazing it felt to be there. Neither have I edited them nor tagged them – c’mon, there are much better ones than mine out there. If you still really wanna snag mine, then go ahead, I won’t hunt you down. Well, on to a few ( yummy front row goodies! )
And you know, just because I feel like it, I have some nice live Videos behind the Cut. ( Brian Littrell, Delta Goodrem & Boyz II Men! )

[mood| high] [music| Brian Littrell – Welcome Home you ] I’ve just returned from my little 3-Day-Roadtrip to see the Guys in Berlin and Hamburg on April 8th and 9th. Let’s just say, I’ve had the best Concert EVER!
♥ sat 10 hrs in front of the Berlin Venue ♥ resulted in my first front row spot ever ♥ saw Georges & some unknown german Rockband live ♥ almost lost my Hearing, due to being next to the speakers ♥ had Howie winking at me twice and touching me once Dude, this was seriously amazing, having each Guy right there in front of me. I’ve never been that close to any of them before, so excuse me when I sound a bit thrilled here. ;) I only have made Pix from my Cell Phone, but they are actually quite good… O_o I will sort through them and post them in a next Entry.

[mood| okay] [music| Monika Ivkic – I’m every Woman ] Ack, my ID expired 3 Months ago… And no one in Bureaucracy ever saw the need to notify me. I even paid for shoes with it last week and she didn’t see that either. Hell, when exactly do you look at your ID anyways? O_o I haven’t needed it for at least a year, I mostly use my severely handicapped pass for the train rides and stuff… Great, now I gotta get photographed and look through my Moms stuff for my Birth Certificate… Yesterday we were out for dinner – on the 26th floor of this old watchtower of my city. It’s located on the harbour entrance watching all over the city and the fjord for miles and miles. The meals were delicious and even if I’ve lived here for quite a while now, this was a first. Lovely sight to enjoy with friends, yummy dinner and a nice glass of wine to go along with it – that was an evening that I enjoyed, despite all that happened lately. It’s unbelievable how grateful I am for these friends…
I also have some new LeAnn Pictures for you! There is an older UK Shoot from about 2006 by Kip Carroll, while she was in London promoting “Whatever we wanna”. Since it’s a hell of a lot (93!), I’ll just post the Link to Alena’s Site..
And since a snowy April started yesterday, here’s the ( BotM! )

| Movie Review #1 - 10.000 BC (Did I put enough Zero's?) |
[March 19, 2008 @ 4:57pm] |
|
[mood| enthralled] [Song| Beyoncé - Listen ] Seriously, I’ve seen so many TV Trailers for this one…. It looked very promising and me being interested in human evolution anyways plus one of my fave novels being a Stone Age Saga (Ayla), I just had to go see it. Sure, there were so many bad Reviews and a friend of mine even went so far to say that he had to constantly stiffle the yawns and the movie felt like drinking the coffee that’s been sitting on your desk for thirty minutes. Nice, huh? Somehow they hadn’t affected me in the first line… Sure, the movie does lack a lot of truth in the historical facts, but still – it’s fun to watch and has entertainment value for the time being. I really liked the great visual effects, even though they were quite poor. You know, coming from the creators of “Independence Day”, “Godzilla” (Yuck.) and the craptacular wolves in “The Day After Tomorrow” this should come as no surprise. The Mammoths were nice, but I doubt the ground would shake with every step they take. Same goes for the Sabretooth tiger. As much as I totally loved that sabretooth tiger! He was so amazing, even though nowhere near actual facts. Still I loved how they created him and he should have had more scenes than just these two… A lot of things were either over exaggerated or too far away from history and you’d think that the responsible special effects company could afford to send their digital artists to a natural history museum for a day to understand scale. Anyhow, to my own surprise I still wasn’t too bugged. ;) The story line is not so bad either, even if some say it’s similar to “Apocalypto”. Filming locations were in South Africa, Namibia, and New Zealand, which makes the journey breathtaking. The Intro felt just like LotR, I could almost swear they used the same mountain range for that flying scenery shot… I also liked the action scenes - fantastically directed! When the actor spoke the first line, I was stunned, to say the least... Aren’t those tribal primitive homo sapien supposed to communicate with gestures or an ancient underdeveloped languages instead of fluent English? But a movie full of grunts and other animalic sounds would probably drown at the box office immediately… A bunch of articulate cavemen (I believe this is the first caveman movie on record where they all speak with English accents) blab on and on about “the last hunt”, “many moons” and “the star that does not move”. Anyways, they have talked English in “Star Wars” and that’s after all a whole other galaxy. *lol* So why not a sophisticated English from the Neanderthals? And dang, can anyone tell me where I know the Leader of the mammoth hunters from? His face is so familiar, but I just can’t place it to a name… Whoever wants a good movie with adventure stuff, action, atmosphere and a happy ending – go see it, never mind the bad reviews because that’s up to your own opinion. ( But if you really, really, really wanna be negative, here’s your fair share. ) Look, just go in there without expecting a History Lesson on human evolution, put down any high expectations, ignore all the factual errors and it’s a fine movie. ;) This time it worked better for me than with “Eragon” where I had a really hard time separating the original Book and what became the movie… I liked this one and I think I’ll get it on DVD too.
Then I have been tagged for a change again, this time by desert_storm494. I only have my Cell Phone, so the outcome is quite crappy. But still it gives you a glimpse. Handwrite the following things and upload it so your friends can see what your handwriting looks like: 1: Name/Username. 2: Left or Right Handed? 3: Favourite letters to write. 4: Least favourite letters to write. 5: Write "The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog." 6: Tag 5 people! This is very interesting because handwritings usually tell a lot about the Ppl behind it. I am only tagging two Ppl ( nyaubaby and mata090680) that I’m curious about, because my flist has a tendency to ignore my taggings… ( Do you need a decoder to decipher my chicken scratch? )

[mood| melancholy] These two Vids moved me deeply. Both are from the 1983 Barbra Streisand Debut Movie "Yentl", which I watched just yesterday for the vey first time. Great Story, amazing Music! Papa, can you hear me is my fave - not only because the Lyrics are fitting once you replace "Papa" with "Mama", but mainly because of the simplicity and the deep emotion that this one brings up.
This one is Piece of Sky and I love how it picks up the mood from a not exactly happy ending to still a somewhat positive ending. Watch out for the last note, which she belts out - breathtaking!

And since I need to cheer up the mood on this journal of mine again, here’s also some random meme. I think I snagged it from prettybutt but I’m completely not sure... But what I’m mainly here to post – Work. *lol* Don’t worry, no plain Babble. I have received such amazing feedback to the circumstances of being half deaf myself and the exhibition itself, so that I’d like to introduce that all a bit more personal to those of you who are interested. ( Vids )
